Roswell Park at the Forefront of Robot-Assisted Surgery
Since the inception of its robotics program in 2004, Roswell Park has performed more than 800 robot-assisted surgeries, including 600 robot-assisted radical prostatectomies. Around 98% of prostate cancer surgical patients at Roswell have this type of minimally invasive surgery, resulting in shorter recovery times, fewer complications and reduced hospital stays. Roswell Park has also performed more than 100 robot-assisted cystectomies, and has used the robotic system for treatment of other genitourinary cancers, as well as some gynecologic, gastrointestinal and thoracic cancers.
